An SDK (Software Development Kit) is a package or collection of utilities that consists of tools and information. It enables developers to create and develop applications for a specific hardware/software or in a specific programming language. The purpose of such an SDK is that developers do not have to reinvent the wheel every time there is already existing functionality.
