The digital university ID card is the modern alternative to the traditional student ID card. Students can save their university ID card directly on their smartphone, for example in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, and have it ready to hand at all times. This eliminates the need to carry a physical ID card, and all important information is stored securely. A digital university ID card enables automatic updates, for example, for authorizations or access rights, so that the university ID card always remains up to date. At the same time, the digital solution ensures that only authorized users have access to their university ID card. For universities, the university ID card facilitates administration and communication with students. Google Wallet is a payment service from Google, which is available both on mobile devices and as a desktop version. The Google Wallet service, which was created in 2011, replaced Google Checkout, which was launched in 2006, two years later. Google Checkout facilitated payments in online stores. However, the service now allowed payments with credit cards, which is why it failed to be a great success in Germany. Google Wallet can be used both in on-site and online retail. For this, NFC technology is used to exchange signals between the mobile device and a so-called terminal. A terminal can be, for example, a checkout system in stores, which makes cashless payment possible, but also a payment process for online shopping. Google Wallet users simply have to enter their delivery and billing address and credit or debit card details.
